Connecticut Drug Rehab

Why is it that most of the drug rehab facilities in Connecticut only offer traditional type of treatment like the 12 step program? Its not that the 12 step program is bad but if you are looking at the sheer statistical side of things you will find that non-12 step drug rehabs are more effective. A Connecticut drug rehab is not always easy to find if you want a long term program or some type of holistic care. Most holistic drug rehabs having a higher success rate because the do not believe in replacing one addiction for another.

Generally a quality treatment program offers a full medical detox, cognitive counseling and life skills therapy. Many people when researching a program for the loved one make a mistake by asking for a dual-diagnosis program. This is just another type of marketing tool for the pharmaceutical industry to prescribe more psychotropic medications for a person who already has a problem with drugs. This only masks the problem more.

A drug rehab in Connecticut that offers a holistic based program is hard to find which means you might have to leave the state to find something effective and long term. Don’t get frustrated because changing a person’s environment is usually the first form of treatment and is always beneficial for the person trying to overcome his or her addiction to drugs or alcohol.

What Type Of Treatment Programs Works?

Drug and alcohol rehabilitation is not something that easy to find especially for centers in the northeast. A New York drug rehab is something that is searched a lot because of all the drug and alcohol addiction in the state. Most people want to stay in state but unfortunately most of the treatment centers are hospital facilities that only provide detox, or group meetings. If you are looking for an effective type of treatment program this is not a solution.

Over the last few years long term drug rehabs have become more and more effective. Changing a person’s environment and getting them into a drug rehab program that not only focuses on the physical and mental cravings but also gets to the underlying issues of why the addicted individual first started using drugs and alcohol as a solution to some type of problem. Whether the problems is low self-esteem, lack of confidence, depression, anxiety, relationship problems, failures in life, or financial stress these can all be triggers for a person to start abusing drugs and alcohol.

So remember that not all drug rehab programs are going to offer the right type of treatment for your loved one. You need to find the program that will offer the proper rehabilitation so that your loved one who is suffering from alcohol or drug addiction can be successful in his or her recovery.
